Lift-a-thon
July 16, 2009
-July 16th we will conduct a lift-a-thon to raise money for the weightroom. This is an important area for all athletes at Warrenton High School. In the weightroom our athletes get a competitive advantage over our opponents. We gain so much from the time we put into the weightroom:
- Strength-to overpower the opponent
- Confidence-to dominate the opponent
- Knowledge-that we have outworked our opponents
- Commitment & Dedication-to each other and to the common cause
Currently we are in need of some renovations to the weightroom which include a new paint job, the addition of some type of recognition to honor our past achievers, and to honor our current achievers. Also, we need to include a new set of bumper weights as the ones we have are falling apart due to use. We can also use a new sound system because our current one is just a radio.(on the floor)
With the help of the community and te dedication of a few, we can raise enough money to accomplish this. Included in the packet is a fundraising sheet for the lift-a-thon. Each athlete should try to seek out at least TEN donors. Each donor may pledge by the pound (example - a penny per pound) or they may give a straight donation. If we can average $5.00/donor we can have a good amount to help get started with our projects. We will begin the projects immediately as soon as we have the proper funds.
